Just when the whole world is rocking Terri‘s first single in 2019 “On Me“and Mavin new boy, Rema’s “Dumebi” a matter arose.
I’m of the opinion that young and budding acts should have a mentor and role model from the already established acts.but they shouldn’t take ones person style and sound as to be their own sounds and style strictly, that’s when copying someone sounds sets in.
Unless you’re living under the rock, you’ll be one of those who haven’t to either or both of Terri’s new single “On Me” and Rema’s “Dumebi”.
If you have, you’ll notice that these uprising artistes have chosen their own mentor in term of sounds and style and it’s no other than Wizkid.
Few months back, Mavin unveils their new act, Rema and his self tittled 4 tracks EP, which consists of his breakthrough single “Dumebi”.
Dumebi has been a bedrock a lot for controversies surrounding the new act, Rema. It’s said that Rema has probably locked himself up for a while to studyWizkid tune and tempo.
The new boy response was savage inclined that it led to to one of the heaviest controversy in the scene so far. Rema replied “Wizkid copied his own sound, and not him copying his”.
If you haven’t listened Rema’s Dumebi, you can do so below:-
